THE LOST CITY OF J

The lost city of J, ou la cartographie d’un monde imaginaire, devenu espace d’installation.
Des architectures à l’équilibre instable, formes empilables et combinables, qui viennent questionner la fragilité de nos vies contemporaines.
Est-ce l’image d’une civilisation à jamais perdue ou d’un chaos naissant, est-ce un futur déjà mort ou une projection post-apocalyptique aux allures de fête foraine ?
Ces formes disparates et précaires renvoient  à quelque chose de bricolé, bon marché, un peu funèbre, tel une sorte de reliquaire profane, à la fois attractif et inquiétant.

C’est une archéologie de mon propre travail, strates mnémoniques de ce qui aurait pu être possible, vestiges de ce que je n’ai pas pu porter, lutant contre la menace de l’effacement.

The lost city of J, or the cartography of an imaginary world that has become an installation space.
These unstable architectures, stackable and combinable forms, question the fragility of our contemporary lives.
Is it the image of a civilisation lost forever, or of incipient chaos? Is it a future already dead, or a post-apocalyptic projection that looks like a funfair?
These disparate, precarious forms are reminiscent of something cobbled together, cheap and slightly funereal, a kind of profane reliquary that is both attractive and disturbing.
It's an archaeology of my own work, mnemonic strata of what might have been possible, vestiges of what I couldn't carry, fighting against the threat of erasure.
